Olive oil mill
The olive oil mill evokes the disappeared dry landscapes, full of terraces of olive trees, carob trees and vineyards. It is the place destined for the transformation of the olives that were harvested in the field into oil. Not everyone could afford one. The heavy investment required was profitable by serving other farmers. These ingenuities became obsolete in the second half of the last century, when the installation of wells significantly changed the landscape of the Horta Sud, with the introduction of orange trees oriented to commercialization.
