Shop-museum of the Hermandad de la Santísima Cruz (Holy Cross Brotherhood)
Inside, we can find different elements that form part of the Abanilla tradition:
-
The Flag of San Andrés (Saint Andrew): Flag used by the Army of Flanders in the 16th century.
-
The costume of the captains: During the pilgrimage, the captains wear the military uniform of the 16th century, consisting of a sash, a hat adorned with a brooch, a badge with the image of the Holy Cross and a red armband.
-
The costume of the pages.
-
The pomegranate: This is a metal pomegranate that is filled with three or four white doves and holy water during the festivities of the 3rd of May. When the pomegranate is opened, the doves take flight, while the water falls on the Holy Cross, blessing it.
