Goddess Fortuna
This is my statue, the Allegory to the Goddess Fortune Balnearis, a piece that pays homage to my figure. I am on Salvador Allende Avenue, a place where many people walk every day.
The piece was conceived and sculpted by the artist ValentÃn Sabiote, who, with his mastery, wanted to immortalise the essence of what I represent: fortune and luck.
Centuries ago, people came to Fortuna to enjoy the thermal waters, which brought them relief, healing and well-being. In those days, my presence as a goddess symbolised good luck, and those who came in search of health also found in me the hope of receiving a blessing.
Over the years, the shape of this place has changed. The ancient baths have disappeared, but the town of Fortuna is still alive and vibrant, with its own stories and unwavering spirit. Today, I remain here, standing as a symbol that unites the past and the present.
