Altarpiece of the High Altar

The altarpiece of the High Altar has a long history closely related to the prohibition of the construction of wooden altarpieces in the 18th century due to the possible fires that these could cause with the contact of candles, hence this one is made of plaster. This altarpiece is decorated with imitation marble and gilt effects. The central niche houses a small image of the patron saint of the church, by an anonymous 17th century sculptor.
