Casa Consistorial (Town Hall)
Modernist style building constructed in 1906 by order of Don Matías Pérez Carrillo with the purpose of using it as a hotel. Nowadays, this building is the Town Hall of Fortuna.
The hall is particularly noteworthy, where we can appreciate the decorative modernist paintings by the artist José María Medina Noguera (1907), a painter considered the most genuine representative of modernism in Murcia.
All the paintings in the interior are made with a technique that uses oil canvasses and adhered to the walls, providing the house with a series of ornamentations in the purest modernist style. The central motif consists of eight panels. They have an ornamental theme and are dominated by landscape, humanised allegories and symbols.
This is the best preserved example in the whole region of Murcia, which is why they have been declared as Bien de Interés Cultural (Cultural Interest Asset) since 2009.
