Town Hall

The Abanilla Town Hall, built during the reign of Ferdinand VI, was initially a multifunctional building that, in addition to serving as the administrative headquarters, housed a jail and a granary to store grain and ensure the town’s supply. Today, it remains the center of local administration.

Despite the modifications it has undergone over the years, some original elements have remained intact, such as the window grilles and the ashlar stonework on the façade.

In front of its entrance, there is a plaque with an image of the Holy Cross. Two other plaques can be found in the town: one on the side door of the Church of San José and another in Mahoya. These plaques mark the locations where the May 3rd pilgrimage makes a stop.
