Museum of Holy Week of Torrent

The Museum of the Holy Week of Torrent is a building whose aim is to host and display all the various religios parades of the Brotherhoods of Torrent. It consists of a central nave of 1,200 square meters and several multifunctional rooms that add an extra surface of 600 square meters. This museum was blessed by the Auxiliary Bishop of Valencia, Mr. Jesús Murgui on the 6th of April 2003. The various processional plataforms and religious images that this museum display were made up after the Spanish Civil War, mainly in the decade of the forties and fifties. Nevertheless, some works of art, fairly elaborate, date back to the last few decades. We can single out, among all the various religious sculptures, the ones belonging to Federico Siurana, Vicente Pallardó, Miguel Sales, Javier Andréu, Rafael Pi Belda, Manuel Rodríguez and Ventura Gómez. One of the rooms of this museum shows the dress of Our Lady of the “Holy Meeting” (a Marian devotion) and the sculpture of the Angel of the Resurrection.
