Hermitage of Saint Anne

The Hermitage of Saint Anne, built in the late 16th century, stands on the site of a former 12th-century Moorish (watchower) castle.
Between 1940 and 1950, the hermitage was the setting for a battle reenactment, in which the Moors would kidnap Saint Joachim and Saint Anne, only to be later defeated by the Christians. Over time, this tradition was discontinued.
Today, the hermitage is one of the locations where captains perform the flag-spinning ceremony during the May 3rd pilgrimage.
