Town Hall

The Town Hall of Abanilla
was built during the reign
of Ferdinand Sixth.
In addition to being the Town Hall,
the building also served as a prison
and a granary.
Now, only the Town Hall remains.

he building has undergone some changes
over time.
The window grilles and the stonework
of the facade are original.

In front of the entrance of the Town Hall,
there is a plaque.
The plaque features a drawing
of the Holy Cross.
There are three plaques in total.
In addition to the one on the Town Hall,
there are also the plaques on the side door
of the Church of San José
and in Mahoya.
They represent the different places
where the pilgrimage of May 3rd passes.
