The Encomienda
The Encomienda is
a 17th-century building.
It is also known as
the House of the Infante or
the House of Don Juan de Austria.
It has been declared a Cultural Interest Asset
since 1986.
It was built to be used
as a warehouse.
Inside, it stored large jars
that were used by members
of the Order of Calatrava in the 17th century.
These jars were used
to store tithes.
On the second floor of the building,
there is currently the library
of the village.
