Historic Xàbia
Tourist Office / Medieval CementeryUntil 1817, all burials took place within the town walls, in cemeteries and churches. This cemetery was a trapezoidal space of about 180 m², enclosed by a sturdy lime mortar and stone wall, where burials were carried out. A section has been preserved under what is now the Tourist Office, with over twenty tombs carved into the natural ground with an east-west orientation.
