Historic Xàbia

Walls of the Town of Xàbia

The town of Xàbia was protected and surrounded by walls until 1874, the year marking the definitive demolition of the defensive walls that enclosed the current ring roads. The remains, found on Av. Príncipe de Asturias, correspond to the wall and three buttresses built in the early 19th century. The current architectural intervention has consisted of consolidating and protecting the original work by raising the wall surfaces about 60 cm to make them more visible.
