Leoneras Tower
Torre Leonera Park takes its name from one of the towers built during the Al-Andalus period, when Benahavís was part of the Kingdom of Granada. The Torre Leonera was part of a series of fortifications that served to guard and protect the village, particularly the Guadalmina River area. It enabled the formation of the first settlement and defended the eastern flank of Montemayor Castle, which was also built during the Muslim period and stands on the summit of a nearby hill, more than 500 meters high, offering views over much of the Málaga coastline, the Rock of Gibraltar, and the northern coast of Africa.
