BUENAVISTA SQUARE
Our next stop takes us to the Plaza de Buena Vista, located at the top of the village. This viewpoint offers an impressive panoramic view of the Guadalhorce Valley, the result of the fusion between Renaissance Christian urban planning and the medieval Islamic town. Popularly known as “Los Poyos,” its name comes from the stone benches that stood there in the 19th century, opposite the old jail.
The square, almost perfectly square in shape, lies in front of the Town Hall. Its most striking feature is the iron railing, designed as a balcony, from which visitors can enjoy views that—no matter how hard one tries to describe them—can never truly capture the magnitude of the landscape unfolding before their eyes.
