LOS SAUCES RECREATION AREA
This recreation area is located 9.1 km from El Burgo along the forest track that runs parallel to the Fuensanta Stream. The surroundings are made up of reforested Aleppo pines and holm oaks that provide shade and coolness for visitors.
Within this setting lie the ruins of the Convent of the Discalced Carmelites of the Holy Desert of Our Lady of the Snows, founded in the 17th century. From the Yunquera–Los Sauces trail, you can also see the remains of one of the hermitages where monks once isolated themselves to pray and meditate.
From this spot, visitors can access various routes within the Park, such as the path to the Peñón de Ronda and Puerto de las Camaretas. The camping area is reserved for school groups or associations upon request to the Regional Government, while the site is equipped with picnic tables, barbecue areas, restrooms, running water, and a parking area to ensure a pleasant visit.
