SAUCILLO VIEWPOINT

The Puerto del Saucillo Viewpoint is one of the most outstanding panoramic points of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park, located at about 1,200 meters above sea level in the municipality of Yunquera, Málaga. From this viewpoint you can contemplate spectacular views of the Guadalhorce River valley, the town of Yunquera and the surrounding mountain ranges such as Sierra Prieta, Sierra Cabrilla, Sierra de Alpujata and Sierra Blanca. The surroundings of the viewpoint are characterized by a rich biodiversity. Vegetation formations can be observed, including scrubland, Spanish fir forests and high mountain meadows with centuries-old gall oaks. The typical fauna of the Mediterranean climate is also present, with species such as Iberian ibex, fox and various birds of prey such as the golden eagle, the short-toed snake eagle and the booted eagle.
