Albar Fountain and Washhouse

The waters of this fountain come from a spring in the Sierra Prieta, conveyed to the town via an aqueduct and tile-lined acequias to supply the population with water, with the surplus collected as a watering trough for livestock.
This fountain also supplied the municipal washhouse, which bears the same name as the fountain.
The washhouse dates from 1951 and was used until the 1970s, when women would go there to wash clothes.
However, it has recently been renovated, with efforts to preserve the appearance it had back then.
