El Montgó

Natural Park

The Montgó Massif rises to a maximum height of 753 meters above sea level. Its east–west orientation and large limestone cliffs define its appearance, and together with its proximity to the sea and mild climate, make the Montgó area one of the most unique places along the Levantine coast. The distinctive topography of this region—with its large cliffs and ravines, as well as the strong contrast between its two slopes—creates a variety of habitats that host a rich natural diversity. Many relict species have survived on the Montgó, and its plant diversity is among the most important in the western Mediterranean, with more than 800 species recorded.
