Buñol Castle / Ventas-North Zone Connection
The sole and original “entrance” to the tiny town of Buñol descended along Balmes Street (a genuine steep slope known as Roja), crossed the old Castle bridge over the barranco and through the Castle’s suburb (today’s Plaza del Castillo) passing the Espartaco neighbourhood, then dropped via the Castle slope. In this way the ravine served as the town’s defence.
Later on the Borrunes bridge on El Portal Street was built; through it the other entrance to the town was opened.
