Church Square
Located in the heart of San Pedro Alcántara, the Plaza de la Iglesia is one of the town’s most iconic and socially vibrant spaces. Surrounded by orange trees, terraces, and traditional buildings, this square exudes a typical Andalusian atmosphere and allows visitors to discover the everyday essence of the town, far removed from the tourist bustle of the coast.
The central feature is the Church of San Pedro de Alcántara, built in the 19th century and closely linked to the town’s agricultural and industrial origins. A pleasant pedestrian area surrounds it, where locals and visitors gather to stroll, have a coffee, or enjoy the local cuisine in its bars and restaurants.
Throughout the year, the square becomes the setting for celebrations, markets and cultural activities, but it reaches its greatest charm during fairs and patron saint festivals, when it is filled with music, lights and a festive atmosphere.
Visiting Plaza de la Iglesia is an opportunity to discover the most traditional Marbella: a place where history, local life and hospitality combine to offer a close and authentic experience.
