The Railway Station House
The Railway Station House in Mahora is a nostalgic vestige of the former Baeza-Utiel line, a railway that was never fully brought into service. Built in a classic industrial railway style, this structure represents an unfinished chapter in the history of Spanish transport and communications.
Despite never seeing a train pass by, the station house and the trackbed are today heritage resources that evoke the hopes for development that the railway brought to La Manchuela in the 20th century. Currently, these spaces have been integrated into the landscape as routes for walking and cycle tourism, forming part of the Greenways (VĂas Verdes) network. For Mahora, this building is a reminder of its strategic importance and a singular landmark that adds historical value to its rural surroundings, serving as a site of fascination for enthusiasts of industrial archaeology and railway landscapes.
