Use and function: Sewing and collecting hair.
Description: There are two whole and six fragments. They show a pointed shape with a hole at the top. They were bone needles used to hold hair and ‘stylus’ for writing. They also had the function of making teles of different materials such as linen or wool. Numerous bone needles of different sizes are recorded. The perforated ones were used for sewing and the others, which have a sphere finish, cubic or polyhedral shape, were more commonly used to decorate or gather hair.
