Casa Pintada or Pintá

Built around the 17th century, Casa Pintada, or Casa Pintá, gets its name from the ochre color that once decorated its façade. Today, it features a red façade.

This building belonged to the Enríquez de Navarra family, a lineage of great importance, closely linked to both the Spanish monarchy and the Order of Calatrava. For centuries, this family owned numerous properties in Abanilla.

One of the most distinctive elements of Casa Pintada is its heraldic coat of arms, sculpted on the façade. Its design is divided into two symmetrical sections:

Left side: Subdivided into four sections, featuring two lions and two chains, the latter associated with the Kingdom of Navarre.
Right side: Displays a large wheel, linked to Saint Catherine of Alexandria.
