LA CAVA’S TROUGH
La Cava’s water system receives water from a nearby underground well that is channeled for different uses. First we found a small trough at ground level under a plastered stone wall with a small spout, intended both for filling jugs to bring water to the houses and for cavalry; Next we found a small public laundry pool where women went to do their laundry and a little further down along the ‘Pozanco’ road, there is a second trough and finally the popularly known as “Balsón” (big pond), intended for livestock and other agricultural uses. In the same way as San Agustín Square, this set of civil infrastructures became an important meeting and socialization point for the town and, today, are a perfect example of the well use of water resources in the past.
