ROYO VIEWPOINT IN ALCALÁ DEL JÚCAR
On the road connecting Alcalá del Júcar with Alpera, barely half a kilometre from the village over the Barranco de la Noguera ravine, there is a viewpoint offering magnificent vistas of the town. A visit to this spot is particularly recommended at dusk during summer weekends. At this time, the illumination of the village, the church, and the castle transforms the scenery into a truly beautiful spectacle.
The viewpoint also features a “Rollo de la Jurisdicción” (a jurisdictional stone pillar). This column once marked the town’s judicial authority within the district—a symbol of law and justice that was widely prevalent during the 16th century.
