ALMAZARA (OIL MILL)

The old oil mill remains almost intact, after the construction of a new one. It is a simple construction whose structure is a load-bearing masonry wall plastered on the outside with cement mortar painted only on the base and decorative moldings. Highlights include the large gate for entry of vehicles and trailers and the ceramic panel that shows the name of the group: “Colonization Union Group No. 524. Almazara La Primitiva Alcublana”.

The interior preserves a good part of its machinery, on the ground floor we find the entire oil extraction process, with the cylindrical grinding wheel with double cylindrical granite stone, the foundry press and several decantation tanks. In addition, it contains the rails of the cars and their turning roundabout. The building is completed with a room used as an office and an open space on the second floor that would be used as storage space.

It is currently disused since the production of local oil was moved to the San Antonio Abad cooperative, still in operation and in whose store (Calle San Antonio, 96) you can purchase the different varieties of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and other local products.
