CERRO GORDO
Cerro Gordo in Balsa de Ves, located in the hamlet of La Pared, is an elevated point that acts as a natural lookout over the municipality and the surrounding lands. Like other elevations in the area, it offers a strategic panoramic view that allows both farmland and more rugged hillside areas to be seen. Its ascent is a common route for active tourism enthusiasts in the area.
The summit of the hill provides a clear understanding of the orography of Balsa de Ves, located on a plateau that begins to break towards the Cabriel Valley. Geologically, it shows the characteristic rock outcrops of La Manchuela. It is a place of great peace, ideal for landscape photography and for observing the vastness of the Manchego sky. Cerro Gordo is a geographical landmark that reinforces the territorial identity of its inhabitants, historically linked to this land of contrasts between the plain and the ravine.
