Algimia d'Alfara
Algimia d’Alfara is a municipality located in the Camp de Morvedre region, in the province of Valencia. Covering an area of approximately 14.45 km² and standing at an altitude of around 173–183 metres above sea level, the town lies at the foot of the Picaio hill, on the right bank of the Palancia River.
Its landscape is diverse: more than a quarter of the area is covered by Mediterranean forest, with pine trees, thyme, rosemary, and low mountain vegetation. Traditionally, its economy has been closely tied to agriculture, with dry farming of carob, olive, and almond trees, as well as irrigated fields with orange trees and vegetables.
One of its most notable natural features is the Font del Comte, a spring located in the Serra Calderona that supplies the town with drinking water. The local council has also promoted the recovery of the traditional rural landscape, restoring ponds, shelters, and historic irrigation structures, and encouraging the reforestation of the area with native species.
Among its main tourist attractions are hiking routes leading to places such as Peña Blanca and the La Mina area, from which visitors can enjoy views of the sea.
