Oli Press
The function of the oil mill was to press the olives to produce the oil. It had a large stone powered by the strength of an animal.
This construction, made in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, has rectangular floor plan, with an open courtyard and three covered naves connected with two large arcades made with blocks of stone.
The rest of the walls are built with masonry. The semicircular arch of the main facade stands out.
The oil press, like the oven, was a stately monopoly belonging to the Aguiló family. All the inhabitants of the town were obliged to make the oil in that mill and pay the rights to use it. Originally the Aguiló´s family shields could be seen above the door.
