Segart

Segart is a small and picturesque municipality in the Camp de Morvedre region, located in the Calderona Mountain Range at around 267 meters above sea level. With a population of about 170 inhabitants, it is known for its peaceful atmosphere and its surrounding mountainous landscape, dominated by pine forests and Mediterranean vegetation.

The village preserves an important historical heritage, such as the remains of the Castle of Segart, of Muslim origin, where walls and a cistern can still be seen. Other notable landmarks include the Hermitage of the Holy Cross and the Church of the Immaculate Conception, both essential elements of its cultural identity.

Segart is an ideal destination for nature and hiking enthusiasts, with routes leading to iconic viewpoints such as El GarbĂ or La Mola, offering some of the finest views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Calderona range.

The local economy has traditionally been linked to dryland agriculture, especially olive, carob, and almond trees, together with some irrigated areas with orange groves. Local festivals and traditions help preserve the welcoming spirit of this quiet Valencian village.
