Iglesia Nuestra Sra. De la Asunción
The Baroque Church style consecrated to the Virgin of the Assumption was built in the first third of the 19th century. XVIII, following the traditional scheme of the time, and was inaugurated in 1737. The facade shows the influence of the last Valencian Baroque. The inside of the temple has three ships, the central one being the tallest with a high dome.
The altarpiece of the main altar, in its original form, was destroyed during the civil war in 1936. Its reconstruction began in 1957, trying to reproduce, as far as possible, the original altarpiece from the 16th century. XVIII. It was built of carved wood and completely gilded and houses the image of the Virgin of the Assumption, surrounded by angels. It was built by Mr. Francisco Garcés Martínez and his work team and painted by Mr. Francisco López and his collaborators. The new altarpiece was blessed in 1964. As an anecdote, it should be noted that its cost amounted to 812,300 pesetas at the time.
