Hermitage-Sanctuary of the Virgin de la Cabeza

On the outskirts of Casas Ibáñez, in the direction of Valencia, stands the hermitage-sanctuary of the Virgen de la Cabeza, a Baroque construction begun in 1680 by the aforementioned architect Juan Ruiz de Ris. It is a single-nave building, with chapel-niches between buttresses, a semicircular apse, and groin vaults, all, although modest, of good workmanship. It houses the image of the patron saint of Casas Ibáñez, the Virgen de la Cabeza, whose festivities are held on the last weekend of April.
