Hermitage of San Roque (Saint Roch)
It dates back to the beginning of the 17th century and is recorded in the archives as the first church in Fortuna. This is where the neighbors used to meet to discuss issues such as the purchase of a terrain or the election of the mayor. It was also here that Fortuna was granted its Carta Puebla (Town Charter) in 1628.
The building has a rectangular floor plan with small chapels. On the main altar there is a figure of San Roque.
In the past, mass was only held once a year, when the parish priest from the Church of San Miguel (Saint Michael), located in Murcia, came. On that day all the ceremonies such as weddings, baptisms, communions, funerals, etc. were celebrated.
