Sculpture of San Roque
The old image of this saint was destroyed in the Civil War. The author of the new image is anonymous but it is known to have been created between 1938 and 1940.
The great devotion shown by the residents of Fortuna to the figure of San Roque is mainly seen during the patron saint’s festivities with events such as the solemn novena in his honor, the traditional offering of flowers and the mass and procession through the streets of the town.
Along with the image of San Roque, the figures of San Isidro Labrador (Saint Isidore the Laborer), Santa Verónica (Saint Veronica), San Pedro papal (Saint Peter) and Jesús with the cross are venerated in this hermitage.
