Parish Church of the Purísima Concepción (Immaculate Conception)
The Parish Church of the Purísima Concepción is located in the Juan XXIII square, of baroque style. A Baroque style building, it was erected from 1728 to 1744, although it has undergone several renovations and modifications throughout its existence.
It is a temple with a basilica floor plan divided into three naves. The pendentives have been decorated with the four Carthaginian saints: Saint Fulgencio, Saint Leandro, Saint Isidoro and Saint Florentina.
In addition, the church has pieces that have been preserved from the time of its construction. Some of these pieces are:
- An embossed silver monstrance known as “La de las Espigas” from the 18th century.
- The baptismal font from the same century, made of a single piece of marble.
- The image of the Virgin of the Sorrows, known as “La Dolorosa”.
- The image of the Virgin of the Rosary of the Salzillo School.
