Town Hall
The Town Hall is
a modernist style building.
Don Matías Pérez Carrillo
had this building built in 1906
to use it as a hotel.
Today, it is the Town Hall of Fortuna.
The most outstanding feature of this building
is its main entrance.
Here you can see the modernist paintings
by the artist José María Medina Noguera.
José María Medina was a very important painter
within the modernist style in Murcia.
The paintings were created
on canvases painted with oil and then attached to the walls.
There are a total of 8 panels.
They depict landscapes, women and symbols.
These paintings are the best preserved example
of modernist style in the whole of Murcia.
For this reason, they have been declared
of Good of Cultural Interest since 2009.
