Goddess Fortuna

This is my statue, the Allegory
to the Goddess Fortuna Balnearis.
I am on Salvador Allende Avenue,
a place where many people
walk and meet.
The sculptor Valentín Sabiote created me
to remember the importance of water and luck.

A long time ago, people used to come to
to Fortuna to go to the thermal baths.
The water helped them to heal and feel good.
I, Goddess Fortuna, brought good fortune
to those who sought wellness.

Over time, this place changed.
The ancient hot springs disappeared,
but people still come to this city.
Now, I am still here as a symbol of the past
and of the present.
If you pass by me, remember that fortune
is effort and hope.
