Hermitage of Mare de Déu de la Roca

It is integrated into the red mountain of La Roca, which stands out for the whimsical shapes that erosion has sculpted into its cliffs. A black Madonna, the Mare de Déu de la Roca, patron saint of Mont-roig del Camp, is venerated here. Its origins are lost in legend, which places the discovery of the image by a shepherd in 1153.
