The pious Mother was
by the cross and wept
while the son hung,
whose soul, sad and sorrowful,
pierced and painful,
held a fierce knife.

Oh, how sad and afflicted
the Blessed Mother was,
full of so many torments,
when she sadly gazed
and painfully looked
at the suffering of her beloved son!
