4.3 x 33.3 cm

Acquisition. MCM Inv.: 1759

An example of what were known as noces (wedding) plates, decorated with items of Valencian female costume, such as a set of hair accessories with a carved comb and hairpins, with large heads adorned with green stones, to hold the coiled bun (topo ar rodete). There is also jewellery, comprising a pair of barquillo earrings and another of the chorro («stream of pearls») type, as well as a rosary, a reliquary, a double-string necklace and a pair of rings of the kind known as «macetas». All this is combined with typical items of clothing, such as stockings, cuffs, a neckerchief, an apron, slippers, a fan, and sewing equipment such as a case of knitting needles, sewing needles and a thimble. The items are depicted in irregular proportions but within the decorative conventions of this period.
