Mattresses

Do and undo, the mattress’s work. The old mattresses were filled with sheep wool or corn spike leaves. This type of filling required to undo them periodically to sponge the compacted filling for use and sanitize it. The mattress unthrew the mattresses, beat the wool, refilled the cover and sewed back. This was one of many repair-oriented jobs, many of them itinerant, that formed a circular economy based on making a good use of resources.
