Tragella

Agricultural apparatus composed of a wooden quadrangular box (0’95 m long by 0’43 m wide) closed behind and with walls laterals that sometimes tend to be defined from more to less towards the upper end. Some tragelles were made of wood only and others were armed or reinforced with iron, both outside and bottom base of the frame. It was used to transport land from one place to another in the field to level the terrain. In this operation, the tragella was driven by means of the pressure movements made by the farmer’s hand on the steva when loading or emptying the ground.
