Pianola

From 1895 to 1938 approximately, pianoles like this one were made. Pianoles had a mechanical system similar to that of a piano, in fact they could be played as such, but they contained a pneumatic mechanism that allowed the reproduction of musical pieces by reading the perforations made in special cartridges, the piano rolls. Pianoles allowed “interacting” with the piano roll, allowing the user to play while the recorded music was playing. This pianola was manufactured by Manuel Rodrigo. In general, valencian manufacturers used to import the automatic mechanism. Specifically, this model is Standar Player Action, manufactured in USA.
