Use and function: Architectural decoration, support element

Description: It is an Ionic capital made of marble that belongs to a pilaster, as it is attached to the structure. It has only one worked face and shows a rope-shape motif in bas-relief, on which are two large volutes – typical of the Ionic type – worked in a spiral. In the centre of these two volutes is a cone-shaped motif that is difficult to identify. Given its typology, it is thought to have formed part of a funerary structure.
