Use and function: Symbolism and representation of a lineage

Description: It is a chiselled border in the form of a scroll, and in the central oval the red cross of St George of Alfama stands out on a white background, the ensign adopted by the Order of Montesa on 24 January 1400. It is dated 1592, and at the bottom there is a later date (1816) confirming its restoration. This coat of arms presided over the house of the administrator of the Lordship, located in front of the tower and facing the square.
