Traditional Houses

The original center of NĂ quera is located around the Church Square, where the streets are narrow and the squares follow one after another. In this area stood the old castle, surrounded by a medieval wall of which no remains survive today.

Most of these 19th-century houses have the structure typical of an agricultural and livestock-based economy, and most preserve this original layout. They have a very wide entrance to allow the passage of carts and animals, and on each side of the door we find the only rooms of the residence.
