Carrer de la Hoz
This street is narrow and sheltered, like the Raval.
Moorish streets were built like this for two reasons:
– to protect people from sun and wind
– to live very close to each other
Houses were close together.
There was shade and cool air.
You could see daily life at every window.
There was not much privacy.
But there was a lot of help between neighbours.
And in the end, when life gets hard,
that is what truly matters.
