EL COTO
This walk, located just a few meters from the historic center of Istán, is a beautiful recreational area where visitors can admire the restored Moorish irrigation channels, blending history with landscape, and enjoy a circular trail of about 2 km in direct contact with nature and local wildlife. It is well known for its rich biodiversity, agricultural history, and importance as a water resource for the municipality.
The irrigation channels divert water from the Molinos River to the orchards and to an old supply reservoir, now converted into the Water Museum.
The site features interpretive panels that describe the local flora while also paying tribute to remarkable women. In addition, it includes an enclosure with various birds such as peacocks and ducks, making this walk an educational and attractive experience to enjoy with friends or family.
