CROSS OF CARAVACA VIEWPOINT
The Cross of Caravaca Viewpoint is a panoramic spot located at the upper part of the town, offering stunning views of Monda and its castle. This viewpoint is part of a series of small square pavilions built in the 18th century by the Cózar Gallo and Torrecilla family, which house crosses and act as a spiritual protective belt around the town.
The chapel that houses the Cross of Caravaca is a modest square building with a hipped roof topped by an iron cross. Its elevated position provides a privileged view of the town, the surrounding natural environment of Monda, and the Guadalhorce Valley.
This site is notable for its religious, cultural, and scenic importance. Traditionally, locals visit the chapel to pray or make offerings, especially during local religious celebrations.
The viewpoint can be reached on foot from the town, although it is also accessible by car, making it easier for visitors with reduced mobility.
