MACHO MONTÉS VIEWPOINT
Nestled within the Special Area of Conservation (SAC) “Sierra Blanca,” this viewpoint marks the end of the signposted trail leading here, known as “El Juanar–Puerto Marbella.”
At 900 meters above sea level, it offers spectacular views over the city of Marbella, with the Mediterranean Sea at its feet.
To the left, at the so-called Puerto de Marbella, stands a monument to the Iberian ibex, a species very common in this area. For this reason, the viewpoint is also known as the Ibex Viewpoint (Mirador del Macho Montés). From here begins a winding path descending to the Puerto Rico spring.
To the right lies the Cross of Juanar (Cruz del Juanar), which can be reached via the trail starting near the viewpoint.
